Our Story - Nepal First Organic CTC Tea Company
In a picturesque village in Nepal, Satyendra Karna (Lal Babu) was known for his commitment to his community. A well-to-do social worker, he often invested his own money to help his fellow villagers thrive. One day, after observing a troubling number of health issues among them, he decided to visit a doctor in a South and Western Indian city to understand the cause.
After examining some villagers, the doctor revealed, “Many illnesses stem from the consumption of inorganic food. The pesticides used in farming can lead to serious health problems.”
These words struck Satyendra (Lal Babu) deeply. He realized that the very food nourishing his community was harming them. That night, he resolved to transform their farming practices.
Back in the village, Satyendra (Lal Babu) gathered the community and shared his insights. “We must abandon pesticides and adopt Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Together, we can grow healthier, organic food.”
Initially met with skepticism, Satyendra’s (Lal Babu) determination inspired the villagers. He led by example, converting his own garden into a vibrant space of organic produce. As they witnessed the flourishing plants and improved soil health, more villagers joined in, gradually shifting away from harmful chemicals.
Satyendra’s (Lal Babu) garden became a beacon of hope, showcasing the benefits of organic farming. The villagers began to thrive, both in health and spirit. Inspired by their success, he established a small factory to process their organic crops, creating jobs and promoting their produce in nearby markets.
Despite facing opposition from a local pesticide dealer who spread doubts about organic farming, Satyendra(Lal Babu) organized community meetings to address concerns and build trust in their new methods. Together, they spread the message of health and sustainability, transforming the village into a thriving hub of organic agriculture.
Years later, as children played in the fields under a setting sun, Satyendra smiled, knowing that he had not only improved the health of his village but also instilled a sense of pride in their farming practices. The journey had begun with a single question, but it had blossomed into a movement, one organic garden at a time.
